Rodney B. Murray, PhD

e-Learning executive, podcaster, pharmacologist, motorcyclist, and militant optimist.

As the Director of Online Learning, Dr. Murray helped launch a new division of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, now part of Saint Joseph's University. Before joining USciences in 2008, Dr. Murray was the founding director of the Office of Academic Computing at Thomas Jefferson University.

He also taught his specialty, pharmacokinetics, to sophomore medical students and graduate students in biomedical sciences at Drexel University. He earned his PhD in pharmacology from Temple University School of Medicine, has published in neuropharmacology, and co-authored a book on pharmacologic calculations.

Rod is an early adopter of technology, especially relating to the Internet and World Wide Web, presenting at the 2nd International WWW Conference in 1994. He has also produced a monthly e-learning technology podcast, Rod's Pulse Podcast, since 2006, syndicated on Inside Higher Ed. In addition, Rod has served on the Board of the Northeast Digital Learning Association (NEDLA), the local chapter of the USDLA.
